Young Minds in Tech Times 2009

We live in a world of rapidly advancing technology unlike any other time era in the history of humanity.
This assignment is a collaborated effort from all students in our class. It is a homework activity that you need to research on your own time. Here are a few websites that may help you in your search:
2facts, factcheck, technologycrawler, factmonster. Find a reliable source of current technology information and then a fact that sums up what you want to present on film for our production. Your fact should contain a statistic that is meaningful to you and thought provoking and interesting to viewers.

Steps to Success

1. Research and find your fact.

2. Create your sign using guidelines below

3. Print your colored sign on 8x10 inch typing paper.

4. Write your fact on the back of sign.

5. Practice and prepare to say your fact on film soon.
To create your sign

1. Open Photoshop. Go to FILE, NEW.

2. Choose PRESET, U.S. Paper, and change it to Width = 10.4 and Height = 8.

3. Use TEXT tool to type a word which represents your fact theme.

4. Make your word large and easy to read.
To enlarge fonts, doubleclick on the #pt window and type a large number such as 220.

5. Stylize your word by going to WINDOW and selecting STYLES or altering it however you like using other tools. The STYLE window will appear. Select your TEXT layer and click on the style you like. Add other graphical elements if you like.

6. Keep the background white.

7. Print it in color by choosing PRINTER, "DELL3110", but first you must set it up correctly.

8. Go to "Page Setup", choose "Favorites" and select PRINT FINE PHOTO.

9. Then click on RESTORE DEFAULTS on the bottom right.

10. Select LANDSCAPE format and click OK and PRINT.
