Colleges & Careers |
Think of the best presenters you've witnessed in your life. Think of what captivated you in their presentations. Why did it? How do news anchors, comedians, and sports casters tell stories? How do they inform and entertain? Think of a presenter that got your total attention. How did they do it? How did they keep your attention? Think of great presenters and use techniques they do and get creative to capture your audiences attention. It's now your turn. You're responsible for researching, preparing, designing, and presenting your midterm project to the class on the final day. We will begin the presentations a day early if there are volunteers. You should have your presentation finished before the final day so don't delay. You have approximately 3 hours (2 class periods). If you're working during a peer presentation on the final day you'll lose points so get busy now! For this project, you get to decide the colleges or careers to present. You'll present the topic in complete detail using multimedia software to inform and entertain your audience. The presentation should consist of a very descriptive, thorough, and complete overview of your chosen profession or degree plan. It should contain various media such as text, images, animations, videos, and audio (sounds, narration, music, etc). Your multimedia presentation should be directly relevant to a college and degree plan or a career path. This should be very informative and beneficial to your future and the students in our course. The multimedia presentation should not be created in PowerPoint. Use alternative presentation applications such as Flash, After Effects, Dreamweaver, Premiere, or open source shareware such as Prezi.com, Sliderocket.com, Google Presentations, or another program of your choice. Presentations should be well organized, entertaining, show a consistent theme, a clear use of the design principles, and look professional. |
You have several options to choose from below.
Additional information is expected to all of the above options. Be as thorough and informative as possible. Make sure you practice before the presenting. Practice your presentation before the day. Plan it out. Time it. Presentations should be 3 to 5 minutes in duration. No exceptions! Keep the detailed information out of the presentation and focus on the most important relevant information that will benefit your peers and their future decisions in life. |
