With the availablity of technology in the 21st century students are capable of expressing themselves online with basic skills and knowledge of certain programs. This project requires students to use a variety of ideas, skills, and knowledge using different programs to combine into your production.

You will create a multimedia video as a group using Adobe Premiere and After Effects. For homework each student is responsible to come up with an original multimedia idea to present to the class. Each student will "pitch" their concept to the class and recruit a crew or join another. Next you will write a script using Celtx of your complete concept.

The following video entitled, "What has This World Come To" will give you a good idea of the multimedia style you are striving to achieve for your production.
You may create a short story, an imaginary trailer, a commercial, a documentary, a poetic music video with a clear message, or a category listed here.

Quiz will cover information from Video101 and the previous 2 video assignments. You are responsible for learning the information. Your project is due in twelve days.

  • All work should be 100% original content or written permission. Use Jamendo or another Creative Common site for music or make your own using Soundbooth and our recording studio. Other sites such as: Findsounds, A1, Soundsnap, Soundjay, Stonewashed. To create your own loops use this software site called Looplabs.

On the right is a good example of why we should teach teachnology and encourage kids to tell their stories using the available software.

Watch Adobe Youth Voices video to see why it's important for students to create such projects.

If you didn't learn Adobe Premiere well enough on the previous project here's a website and another with short, but very helpful tutorials to use at school to review tools and techniques. Use this site to learn the basics of Adobe After Effects. You may download, install, and use the free presets if you like. Here are dozens of advanced tutorials too.

Below are Bowie students examples of this project.
