Throughout the year you have been responsible for saving all your work to your portfolio folder. Now it's time to show it off! This final project in Animation class will be a showcase of all your best work from the whole year. You get to choose the portfolio format to create it from the options below. You can stylize your portfolio using your own theme, but it should be organized into at least 3 categories such as: drawings, designs, photographs, animations, videos, 3d, audio, etc. It also needs to consist of at least 7 projects from the year. You can add additional content that you created aside from our projects in this course, but they must be from this year. Be honest.
The more thorough, professional, and impressive your portfolio looks the better your grade. Grades will be determined by the following criteria.
-
10% Presentation - how thorough (1-2 minutes), informative, and clear the material is presented to class
-
20% Organization - how well planned (theme), arranged, and structured
-
20% Quality - degree of excellence of works presented considering skill, talent, effort, and time they took
-
20% Quantity - minimum of 12 photos and 7 other projects = total of 19 works
-
10% Critique - be an online critic of a classmates portfolio here.

The first step in producing a portfolio is planning it. Research your options below. Read and find out which one best suites your needs, preferences, and possibilities for future use such as networking or a job. Choose one of the four options below and begin compiling your portfolio. |
-
Video Demo Reel - Use Premiere and/or After Effects to create a video style slide show of your designs, photos, animations, and best video highlights. Create a title and credits. Include music by using Garageband, Audacity, Creative Commons, or the recording studio in our room.
Remember a demo is a shortened version.
Here's the Criteria.
The following demo reels were create by Bowie students:

- DVD - Make a dvd! Use Adobe Encore to create a DVD portfolio of photos, animations, videos, and music. You must include at least a dozen works for this project. You can create a DVD containing work from several students from the class or the whole class instead of just your own work if you prefer. Same criteria. Print on it too (optional) !

- Network website- Use Carbonmade or Taltopia (only works at home). These sites allow uploading of images and videos, but not .swf files of animations. If you prefer a portfolio that consists mostly of animations then you should use one that supports .swfs. You can convert your short length .swfs to .gifs, but there are some disadvantages to it. Remember converting your .fla files to .gifs will work on most websites, but the quality will be degraded and the file size will be larger which may prevent uploading as many images as needed on a free account. These two sites allow uploading images, videos, and .swf files for animations: Esnips & Deviantart

There are numerous free website hosts and builders to choose from on the Internet. If you know of another new site in addition to the suggested you may use it, but it must be accessible in AISD and equivalent to the ones above. |
This link has 50 different portfolios to compare for ideas and inspiration.
Here’s a list of several projects from this year.
This list will hopefully help you decide which projects to use for your portfolio.
You are responsible for posting all original material in your portfolio according to the criteria.
If you can't find some of the projects above you can recreate them or search our server to hopefully locate depending on the names you saved.
To search for files on your computer (C:drive) and the server (Z:drive) follow these steps. Go to START, SEARCH, click on "ALL files and folders" and type in your last name. Make sure "Look in:" says, C:, Z:, or both. After finding your files copy/paste them to your Z;portfolio.
